Description
Tylonova-LB is a potent combination of two antibiotics and a mucolytic agent specifically designed to treat severe respiratory and gastrointestinal infections in poultry.
Key Components & How They Work
* Levofloxacin (100 mg): A powerful, broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic. It kills both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria by stopping their DNA from replicating.
* Tylosin (10 mg): A macrolide antibiotic that is the “gold standard” for treating Mycoplasma (the primary cause of CRD). It works by stopping bacterial protein synthesis.
* Bromhexine (15 mg): A mucolytic (expectorant). It breaks down thick mucus in the lungs and windpipe, making it easier for the bird to breathe and allowing the antibiotics to reach the site of infection more effectively.
Indications:
This combination is typically used for “mixed infections” where both bacteria and respiratory stress are present:
* CRD (Chronic Respiratory Disease): Characterized by gasping, coughing, and “rattling” sounds (rales).
* CCRD: When CRD is complicated by E. coli (Colibacillosis).
* Infectious Coryza: Swelling of the face and discharge from the eyes/nostrils.
* Fowl Cholera & Salmonellosis: Systemic bacterial infections.
